THE DRVU VISION
WHERE THE IDEA CAME FROM
DRVU was conceived by founder Roy A. Ebalaroza through firsthand experience driving rideshare in Hawaiʻi and listening closely to the frustrations of both drivers and passengers. Over time, many of those conversations centered on how an industry that once felt innovative, flexible, and exciting when rideshare was first introduced more than a decade ago had become increasingly shaped by opaque algorithms, unpredictable pricing, and systems that many users and drivers felt had become algorithmically exploitative. Driving provided a front-row view of those changes — from the day-to-day realities drivers face, to passenger concerns about fares, to the impact transportation has on local businesses and communities. Those experiences led to a larger question: Can a transportation platform embrace modern technology and continue to grow without losing the fairness, simplicity, and human connection that made rideshare so appealing in the first place? DRVU is being built to prove that it can.

For passengers, transportation is rarely the final goal. It is what allows someone to get to work, reach an appointment, visit family, connect to public transportation, complete an errand, attend school, support a local business, or simply get home. DRVU is being designed to make those everyday connections more convenient while keeping the passenger experience straightforward, accessible, and community-focused.
LOCAL RIDES • TRANSIT CONNECTIONS • WORK & SCHOOL • APPOINTMENTS • ERRANDS • COMMUNITY MOBILITY
Sometimes transportation means traveling across an island or a city. Sometimes it means getting a few blocks closer to where you need to be. DRVU intends to serve both kinds of needs.
Drivers provide the vehicle, time, customer service, maintenance, fuel, experience, and human interaction that make rideshare possible. DRVU is being designed around the principle that drivers should have meaningful opportunities to grow with the platform. Performance, customer service, completed trips, accumulated experience, and continued participation can contribute to a driver’s progression within DRVU.
RESPECT • OPPORTUNITY • PROFESSIONALISM • RELIABILITY • GROWTH
The goal is to give professional drivers a reason to remain active, provide excellent service, maintain their vehicles, and see DRVU as a platform where their contribution is recognized.
A restaurant. A tire shop. A barber. A medical appointment. A grocery store. A mechanic. A local event. Transportation and local commerce are naturally connected. DRVU is being designed to give businesses an opportunity to become part of the transportation ecosystem rather than simply purchasing generic advertising space. Its broader vision also includes deliveries and other transportation services that can help move eligible items through the community.
LOCAL DISCOVERY • BUSINESS PARTNERSHIPS • DRIVER SERVICES • PASSENGER BENEFITS • COMMUNITY CONNECTIONS

DRVU is not being designed to replace buses, rail systems, or other public transportation. Instead, DRVU sees an opportunity for rideshare to help passengers complete the first and last portions of their journeys.
HOME → DRVU → LOCAL TRANSIT → DRVU → DESTINATION
A short ride can be the difference between public transportation being practical and being inconvenient. DRVU’s vision also includes responsible screening, identity verification, documentation, secure accounts, trip records, responsible handling of information, and safety-focused technology — because growth means nothing without trust.
DRVU is being rebuilt with stronger company ownership, cybersecurity, access control, source-code safeguards, documentation, and technical accountability. Technology partners should help build the platform, but the company itself must maintain control over the systems that passengers and drivers depend on.
COMPANY-CONTROLLED SYSTEMS • SECURE DEVELOPMENT • RESPONSIBLE DATA HANDLING • ACCOUNTABILITY • CONTINUITY
DRVU’s technology should remain a tool for serving people — not a point of vulnerability or dependency.
SPREADING THE ALOHA
DRVU was born in Hawaiʻi, and the company intends to carry something important from Hawaiʻi into every community it enters. In DRVU’s vision, “Spreading the Aloha” means more than friendliness. It means respect, fairness, community, responsibility, human connection, and growing without forgetting where DRVU came from.
ALOHA IN HOW WE TREAT PASSENGERS • ALOHA IN HOW WE VALUE DRIVERS • ALOHA IN HOW WE SUPPORT BUSINESSES • ALOHA IN HOW WE ENTER COMMUNITIES • ALOHA IN HOW WE GROW
Wherever DRVU operates, the goal is to bring a little of that Hawaiʻi philosophy with us.
DRVU is preparing to begin with an initial pilot on Oʻahu. The purpose of starting locally is to test the platform in the community where the idea originated, learn from real passengers, real drivers, real businesses, and real transportation conditions, then improve carefully before broader expansion.
OʻAHU — THE FIRST CHAPTER
If DRVU successfully proves its model in Hawaiʻi, the long-term vision is to expand throughout the United States. But every state is a new community: the goal is to carry DRVU’s core philosophy into each market while learning from the people who actually live and drive there.
CANADA • NEW ZEALAND • AUSTRALIA • SELECTED EUROPEAN MARKETS
These are future ambitions, not current operations. Any expansion would require careful attention to local laws, transportation systems, cultures, safety requirements, insurance, and community expectations.
DRVU is a business, and for the company to survive and grow it must be financially sustainable. But financial success is not intended to become the sole definition of success. The community should not exist simply to make DRVU successful. DRVU should become successful by serving the community.
MISSION BEFORE SHORT-TERM PRESSURE • COMMUNITY BEFORE EXTRACTION • DRIVERS AS PART OF THE PLATFORM’S SUCCESS • LOCAL RELATIONSHIPS AS DRVU EXPANDS
The challenge is not simply building DRVU. The challenge is building DRVU at scale without losing the reason it was created.
DRVU welcomes people who believe transportation can be improved and who want to contribute to building it responsibly.
PASSENGERS • DRIVERS • SOFTWARE DEVELOPERS • ENGINEERS • DESIGNERS • TRANSPORTATION PROFESSIONALS • PUBLIC-SERVICE PROFESSIONALS • LOCAL BUSINESSES • COMMUNITY ORGANIZATIONS • EDUCATORS • BUSINESS ADVISORS • MISSION-ALIGNED PARTNERS
DRVU values direct conversation and meaningful collaboration. We welcome opportunities to personally meet with people and organizations who share the goal of building a better transportation ecosystem.
DRVU isn’t just another rideshare choice. It is a community-based transportation vision born in Hawaiʻi and intended to carry that spirit wherever the road takes us.
From Oʻahu to every future DRVU community.
Whether you are a passenger, driver, developer, business owner, transportation professional, community leader, or someone who simply believes rideshare can work better, there may be a place for you in the DRVU story.
